Dr. Ahmed Basheer Ayyed is a distinguished academic, clinician, and international lecturer specializing in orthodontics and institutional quality assurance. He currently serves as Assistant Lecturer of Orthodontics and Manager of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry, Al-Turath University, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing academic standards and clinical excellence.

Dr. Ahmed earned his Bachelor’s degree in Oral and Dental Medicine from Future University in Egypt, followed by a Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics from Al-Azhar University, Cairo. He is presently pursuing his PhD in Orthodontics at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), focusing on digital orthodontics, biomechanical optimization, and advanced clinical research.

With extensive teaching and clinical experience, Dr. Ahmed has served as a senior lecturer and clinical instructor at the United Dental Academy and Zarcon Dental Academy in Baghdad. He has mentored hundreds of young dentists through specialized training programs and workshops, emphasizing evidence-based practices and the integration of digital technologies in orthodontic care. His lectures cover advanced topics such as anchorage control, digital cephalometric analysis, artificial intelligence in orthodontics, and treatment planning protocols.

In his role as Manager of the Quality Assurance Unit, Dr. Ahmed has led the design and implementation of national QA frameworks, digital documentation systems, and curriculum alignment initiatives. His strategic contributions have strengthened the faculty’s reputation for academic integrity, research innovation, and continuous improvement.

Dr. Ahmed is also an active international speaker, having presented at leading scientific conferences including EDSIC (Egypt), the Arabian Orthodontic Society Congress, and the Iraqi Orthodontic Association International Conference. His research interests span digital orthodontics, bonding systems, biomechanics, AI in dental education, and infection control.
