QAHE Appoints Two Distinguished Iraqi Dental Educators as Honorary QA Auditors

The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) is proud to announce the appointment of two esteemed academic leaders from Iraq—Prof. Dr. Tahani Abdulaziz Jaffar Al-Sandook and Dr. Ahmed Basheer Ayyed—as Honorary QA Auditors. This recognition reflects their exceptional contributions to dental education, institutional quality assurance, and academic leadership in the region.

Prof. Dr. Tahani Al-Sandook currently serves as the Dean of the College of Dentistry at Al-Turath University in Baghdad. A renowned Professor of Dental Pharmacology, she has held several key positions including Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Mosul and Cultural Attaché at the Iraqi Embassy in Washington, D.C. Her research spans pain management, antimicrobial agents, and oral therapeutics, with widely published work accessible through ResearchGate and Google Scholar. Under her leadership, Al-Turath University has implemented a robust quality assurance framework aligned with national and international standards, driving strategic planning, digital transformation, and continuous improvement across academic and clinical domains.

Dr. Ahmed Basheer Ayyed, Assistant Lecturer of Orthodontics and Manager of the Quality Assurance Unit at the same institution, is equally recognized for his innovative approach to orthodontic education and institutional QA systems. With degrees from Future University (Egypt) and Al-Azhar University (Cairo), and currently pursuing a PhD in Orthodontics at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Dr. Ahmed has led training programs and workshops across Baghdad, mentoring hundreds of young dentists. His expertise includes digital orthodontics, AI applications in dental education, and biomechanical optimization. As QA Manager, he has played a pivotal role in accreditation efforts, digital documentation, and curriculum alignment.
