Dr. Hamzah Shatri
Dr. Hamzah Shatri is a distinguished medical professional and educator with over 30 years of experience in the fields of Internal Medicine and healthcare education. Graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Diponegoro University in 1984, he began his career as a general practitioner and has since dedicated himself to advancing medical practice and education in Indonesia.
Following his initial training, Dr. Shatri served in various capacities with the Indonesian government, including a significant role at a primary health care center in rural South Sumatra. In 1989, he pursued further specialization in Internal Medicine at the University of Indonesia, where he graduated as a specialist in 1996. He subsequently became a lecturer at the same institution, contributing to the education of future healthcare professionals while practicing at the DR Ciptomangunkusumo General Hospital, a leading national referral and teaching hospital.
Dr. Shatri’s expertise extends to Psychosomatic and Palliative Medicine, areas in which he has made substantial contributions through research, community health services, and clinical practice. His commitment to education and mentorship has inspired many students and colleagues, establishing him as a respected figure in the medical community.
In addition to his clinical and educational roles, Dr. Shatri has been actively involved in various professional organizations. He is a founding member of the Indonesian Psychosomatic and Palliative Medicine Association and has held leadership positions in several medical associations. His contributions to healthcare have been recognized through numerous awards, including national health team appointments and excellence in teaching accolades.
Recently, Dr. Shatri was awarded the Honorary Professorship in Health Sciences and Education, jointly conferred by QAHE and Kennedy University, in recognition of his exceptional dedication to healthcare education and his impactful work in the medical field. This honor reflects his ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes and advancing medical education in Indonesia.
